Each piece of Livliga® portion control dinnerware is designed to look striking as a suite of dishware. Each dish also has its own unique portion indicators/measurements to guide you in using the right amount of food as described by a recipe or single serving noted on the side of a package. In addition to its beautiful design the 4 piece place setting is right-sized which means they are smaller than the average dinnerware sold today. All are proportionally designed with wide rims so when you put the right-sized food portions on your plate and in your bowl or mug it will look like “enough” so that at the end of your meal you will feel satisfied.

The dinner portion control plate has 5 measurements on it. The largest circle is for your vegetable or fruit and designates a 1 cup measurement. The icon with 2 circles indicates a ¾ cup serving as well as a ½ cup serving which are typical serving sizes for the starch or grain in a given meal. The squared icon is for your protein and is typically between 2–6 ounces. The smallest icon is a “dollop" and measures cup (2 tablespoons) of sauce, condiment, salad dressing or jam. The luncheon/salad plate has 3 measurements on it. The largest icon is a double circle with the outer circle being a ¾ cup serving and the inner circle providing a ½ cup measure. There is a separate cup (2 tablespoons) icon as well on the plate. The bowl is proportionally right-sized to accommodate a 1 cup serving (8 ounces) as well as a 1 ½ cup serving (12 ounces), depending on the meal and recipe used. The mug is designed to accommodate a right-sized single serving amount of 8 ounces to be used for your morning “joe" or tea or hot chocolate or for any other drink you prefer to place in a mug.

    I bought the Vivente portion control dinnerware to help visualize a right-sized portion. We use them every day. This dinnerware is gorgeous, sturdy, and no one who looks at it can see the visual cues...until I share the secret of my success!

    Effective tool for portion control

    I am an obesity researcher, and liked the idea of a simple subconscious reminder of proper portion size as well as a balanced diet. I've had the Vivente 16 piece set for 9 months, and really like them. The Livliga claims about feeling more full while eating less with this dinnerware has been true in my experience. I used several of the settings as gifts for family members who are also enjoying them! It's always helpful to live in an environment that supports and encourages us to live healthy, so thanks for this great tool Livliga!

    Love this but couldn't decide :D

    I saw this pattern and another I really liked (Halsa) but couldn't decide. I called my husband for his opinion and he, too, was torn. Ultimately, we decided to purchase one of each so we would have a complete set of 8. We love the way the colors and patterns look together. We mix and match each of the plates, bowls, etc for a fun, festive look.

    Great Quality, Great Looks

    To tell the truth my husband did not want these, that is not until we received them. He thought they would be either too heavy or too light and fake feeling and that the design for portion control would be cartoony. BUT he, as with the rest of the family LOVE them! Livliga are the perfect weight, and excellent quality. They are everyone's new favorites to use, and that is surprising since my youngest would only use one particular set. Now the whole family uses the same and the table looks beautiful when set. I just hope they add some other designs for those that would prefer a larger choice of colors or shapes even. But I am overjoyed with the set I have and will be using them for years to come!

    We are so happy with our livliga dinnerware! It has changed the way we think about portion size in such a positive way. My husband and I have gotten so used to the smaller portions (which still appear sizable on the livliga plates) that it has carried over into those times when we eat out at a restaurant or at friends' houses. We take smaller portions, or always have doggy bags to take home from restaurants. It's a wonderful thing!
